Hi guys,

I have taken delivery of the above for my Orange Five and after looking have realised it isn't as easy as taking the outer ring off.

Has anyone else done similar and do Shimano sell any bolts to allow this. If it was as easy to buy a dedicated trial 2 x 10 crank I would of done but the Orange Five frame doesn't allow for the larger outer rings.

Any help or pictures etc on what you may have done in the past would be great.

Thank

Matt

Just put a bash ring on in replacement for the big ring?

I use an XTR triple as a single front, same principle. My Mrs uses a XTR triple as a double (granny & middle) with a bash & lower chainguide.

All work fine.

The problem is that there is a male screw that goes through the middle ring and threads into the outer ring.

Now I have removed the outer ring the screws have no thread to attach to.

The screws need a thread to attach to?

Using a Gamut P20 bash and Gamut bolts, bash free with KCNC M980 bolts(£15) I would have liked XTR bolts but at £50 a set they are a bit pricey.

See Godzilla's second picture.

I haven't got a close up of mine, but this is an XTR triple running as a single front ring with a bash guard to replace the outer.
