Can anyone confirm quickly - does the above 'have' to run with the XTR BB? Or can it be replaced with the standard HT2 BB?

You can use any MTB HT2 bottom bracket if you want.

You can run it with [u]ANY[/u] external bottom bracket except the truvative GXP type.
