Now I'm not saying my old M960 XTR rear mech hasn't done a stellar job. 5yrs of abuse and not a lot of TLC and only now are the jockey wheels worn around the inside to the extent i'm getting loads of grief.

However I just had a look for replacements, CRC want £47 for a replacement set. Of Jockey wheels.

Someone help me out, tell me this aint true.......

I just got these from this ebay seller
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MFD-Jockey-Wheel-Rear-Derailleur-Pulley-Green-11T-/330417219863?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cee66a917

was cheapest I could find. They are identical to the KCNC ones, even same bearings (I checked)
Took while to arrive as he was out of stock but his communication was excellent (even apologised if they where delayed due to the volcano in 'Ireland' 🙂 )
Would definatel;y use him again
Jockeys have been running great one in bottom of my XTR one in bottom of my Sram x0 for a few rides now

I was looking the other day at some components my brother in law used to use - KCNC. Think they're jockey wheels are uber lights and a little pimping

+1 for BBB - really good stuff, and £25 cheaper than the equally good FSA ones.

TACX is the best value - £10 or so - and last longer than XTR ones!

I wore my jockey wheels down in 6 months, and it was only when I compared them to new ones I realised how bad they were - think 20p vs 50p!

😆

Eee, in Oldgit's day, jockey wheels would last you fifty year, and even then only need re-covering and they'd be good as new!

I was in similar situation a couple of days ago and was advised by the mechanic at Skyline cycles to fit SLX/deore type stuff (£10 the pair) as I'd never know the difference. I did and he was absolutely correct.

Some shimano replacement part prices are utterly ridiculous - jockey wheels and chainrings being just two examples.
