After a frustrating day of gear cables jumping (6 month old stumpjumper elite), I threw some cash at an XTR cable set. Never gone XTR before.
Just noticed before I opened the packet that you get lots of short outer lengths (600 & 300m long) - I should have spotted this.
The Stumpy and My previous Orange 5 all have no breaks in the outers - It just seems like the right thing to do to reduce chance of problems.
Can I use 2 XT Outers cut to length and use the clever XTR coated inner and end caps? The inners are all 1.2mm diameter I presume. Will the Outer diameter be ok etc? Anyone any experience.
Thanks for looking.
The world will end!
Better still buy a roll of SP41 outer and cut it to the correct length as and when required.
Dibbs is the man though al will, ultimately, be proven right 😕
