Aside from the bite point is there any difference?
I have xt brakes which I like and slx which I don't.
Is it down to set up or is there a physical difference?

I think the bite point adjustment (which barely does anything) and better materials. I think they're fundamentally the same so you must have a setup issue. If the lever feel is similar then it's probably more likely discs/pads rather than the bleed
