Out on the eMTB a couple of days back, going through a shallow stream and changing down for the steep up out the other side and the rear mech just slammed in to the highest gear.
The mech would then only go 1 or 2 up the cogs and then refuse to go any further. After spinning the cranks a few times and moving the shifter one cog at a time it appeared to learn all the cogs again before just suddenly operating normally
I found a few YouTube vids about road Di2 crash reset, which this feels like it maybe. But Di2 road and MTB are very different things
Does anyone know the correct way to reset the XT Di2 mech as I feel this was pot luck I got it working again.

You normally enter crash recovery mode by pressing down and holding the button on the junction box or display for 5s. the derailleur will then hope through all the gears so long as the cranks are spinning and then exit crash recovery mode once it has done this. I've never heard of one entering crash recovery mode by itself. Entering "crashed" mode? Sure, but not autorecovery.
EDIT - Apparently, just manually skipping though the gears one at a time is a form of manual crash recovery and is the only means of crash recovery on the new GRXDi2 12s.
The unit entered crash mode I think , and obviously me turning the cranks and charging gears helped it reset ??
It was a complete reset though. I’ve had to retrim the mech to the right alignment today
maybe there is no manual reset button on XT Di2 and you just go through the process above 🤷♂️
