Had 2 xt cassettes recently both have started skipping in the 3 smallest sprockets they both seem to have worn on what I think is the shifting tooth. Changed the chain at .75 wear but only seem to get two chains out of them, not shifting on power or anything,
my sram cassette has been on for 1500 miles with no issues
could I use a sram cassette with shimano deralier 11 speed, or is there a better lasting shimano option?
Yep, sram will work. Other option is a larger chain ring, then the smallest sprockets will be less likely to wear.

Either you get a heavy ass NX one that fits the Shimano freehub you've got, or get a new freehub / wheel to run posher SRAM ones.
Whip the cogs off and re-profile with a round chainsaw file. I manages 18 months and 4 chains out of an M8000, and about to do the same to an M7000.
Yeah might give filing ago to see if I can get a bit more out of it, will the lower spec heavier cassettes last longer ?

@teethgrinder Well, at least you have the username to match... 🙂
I have had the same issues. Bike shop suggested going to as 36 tooth upfront. Over the winter I’ve been working on spinning not mashing so I can use smaller front rings without killing cassettes, training on rollers seems to have helped raise my cadence, I guess time will tell on the wear front.
