Who's got some decent riding over the festive time then

We've got
19th @ 471 Flyup for race
21st @ BPW uplift
22nd @ Afan for Blue Scar
29th @ FoD for Wye MTB
30th @ Rogate
2nd Jan @ Cannock

I'm sure we'll squeeze in some local stuff over the 22-29 as well 🙂

Off to Sylt on the German Danish border as flights to Marrakech have been scratched and we can drive easily within Germany.

Fatbikes, big beaches, seafood and an Airbnb.. oh and no hills.

One worry though, it might be baltic...

Besides completing my annual goal of 365 hours for the year, having got as far as ~20 hours behind schedule during my October flu, nothing else planned. 14hrs15mins left, after riding everyday since Nov 2nd, in a desperate bid to catch up after numerous health setbacks this year. Got back on schedule last Friday, for first time since around April's first Covid jab, albeit with an awful lot of Z1 riding recently.

I did a virtual festive 500 last year (first time I've tried it), but not sure I'll bother attempting it this year, I've gained weight; lost a lot of power (280 vs 220 FTP estimate) and even new "fancy" Castelli bibs with their luxurious pad can't keep my backside comfy for more than ~60mins on the turbo.

We have four days in the Peak with the camper from Sunday, forecast looks good. Our annual New Year trip to Pebbles has been postponed for another year so will be getting some local rides in. If it stays dry then Cutgate will be one of them.
It will be nice to do some gentle stuff with Abigale assuming she is up for it

Weeksy - is there an event at Cannock on the 2nd or are you riding for fun?

Cannock is an Eeb day out matey, but you're more than welcome to come along. One of the other guys Couchy posts on here and i'm using his Specialized something Eeb and my lad is using the Live Embolden E+ of Mrs Weeksys. Normally of course we'd bring our manual bikes, but the other guys are all on Eebs and it's incompatible for us to use different types.

Ride from the door for me, so a Solstice Mary Townley Loop. Weather looks reasonable, should be an uplifting day out!

Mainly trying to clear some of the trails after the storm with the odd bit of riding in to get to them.
Having plenty of time on my hands I don't mind doing my bit for the local community.

19th - me in Reeth with our local woman-led off road group for a Christmas ride
20-21st - me and @p20 somewhere! tbc as debating whether we can justify going away with the van or not in current covid situation and using shared facilities (I am only getting boosted today)!
22nd - riding muddy gravel locally with a mate
25th - Christmas day ride in the NYM with the parents (on their very fancy ebikes, with us struggling to keep up! Ha!)
26th - maybe a quick blast out from the inlaws
31st-3rd - in the Lakes, so some riding of some form!

I will probably ride between 28th to 31st as well (there is talk of an all day outing to as many local trig points as possible!), but I really must decorate our stairs and landing before new carpet arrives in Jan! p20 is working a lot of the above, so will entertain myself.

My legs hurt reading all that...

I'm a cyclocross newbie so a couple of 'cross races lined up though weirdly I think I am doing them just as my fitness is beginning to tail-off rather than the other way around. Other than that Zwift/Turbo and the odd road ride locally if the weather isn't too bad.

I think I'll aim to keep fitness up through to January and then take a bit of time off and with no agenda until maybe mid-February and pick some summer goals then.
