We are going to be in the area and want to know what there is outside the bike park. Don't get me wrong we love the bike park but have been there a fair bit recently and really fancy a longer XC route. What is there? I know there used to be a red XC but does it still exist? And is it easy to follow?

Cheers for any help.

Bump, because midnight on a Friday is never a good time to start a thread.

There's obviously the loop around the forest that surrounds the bike park. It's a beautiful bit of forest but not especially exciting. It has the odd little very short bit of singletrack darting off from the main doubletrack if you look.

I went round it a couple of loops after getting a bit bored at the park.
It's not really long enough as an on its own thing but nice enough.
Beyond that I'm not sure sorry.
Woburn has some xc down the road too.

Ive never ridden the loop. Is it best tackled clockwise or anticlockwise? Also while you're here. If you know the area, is there anywhere nearby to watch the rugby?

I'm not sure direction matters but I went clockwise I think.
Not sure about rugby but there are plenty of pubs in nearby towns I'm sure..I'm not from them parts sorry.

Grab the OS landranger map and look for the bridlepaths. Chicky is on the John Bunyon trail, which will then lead on to others.
