I'm just wondering if there's any reason not to build my XC race bike like my fun trail bike but on a diet?
I'm new to racing (well I will be next year) and come from a DH/BMX race background which shows in my trail bike set up.
my last XC race bike was my trail bike and my alps bike and my occasional DH bike.
Depends what you want to get out of it really, fun, podium, fame and a cover of WMTB?
How many other bikes do you have and how much cash do you want to burn? If it's race only then you can go all out, if you still want to use it day to day then build for what you will use if for the most.
Go with what your comfortable on unless you are racing seriously then go what your fastest on and damn the pain. ๐
