Afternoon everyone-

Booked into a lovely cottage on the edge of Cardrona cottage for all of next week.

Obviously will be taking trips to the Stanes, but does anyone have any routes for the area they would care to share?

Many thanks,

Paul

Rude not to do Gypsy Glen if you are right in Cardrona

+1 for Gypsy Glen. Also loads of great natural stuff between Innerleithen and Selkirk.

This lot have a few maps on their site:

Also, I think their forum's still pretty active for group rides and the like. Someone might be free to show you around.

Just past Cardona towards Peebles, take the drove road aiming for St Mary's Loch. Then around that to the pub/cafe, and back on the Southern Upland Way.

I'll also be up there at my folks, happy to meet for a day - EIP.

Also take lights, as there are a couple of night rides usually on, Selkirk and GT.

Cademuir trails are ace and link on nicely to the end of Gypsy Glen.

The 3 Brethren/Yair forest route from Inners is outstanding with the current dry weather too.

ST Issue 68 had an Innerleithen tour.

Wish it'd been published 1-2 issues earlier, then I'd have prolly not done the stock Innerleithen loop on our roadtrip last yr.

One of my favourite Selkirk - Inners routes passes Cardrona (so you would have a different start point).

Based on one the Merida 100k things from a few years back. Lots of natural stuff, some Inners bits, and the Yair bits. email me for a gps route link if you fancy.

Also MTB borders are a really friendly bunch - post on there and someone might be able to tie up with you.

Really really dry just now - just about perfect! Jealous.

Go to the pump track at Cardrona too, good for a couple of hours laughs.

We did a nice route last weekend (in the sun). You could pedal along the back road from Cardrona to Peel, then by the river over to Yair. Then up the 3 Brethren, before heading down again into Selkirk where you can stop for a coffee and cake at the Salmon leap place (Philiphaugh).

Then along to Bowhill, round the Duchess Drive, up Minch Moor road and down either back to Yair or into Innerleithen.

The route we took is on Strava so can point you to it if you fancy.
