I'm in the process of speccing the first MTB I've bought in a decade so I'm very out of touch and would very much appreciate some help.
Frame is likely to be a Sonder Broken Road (or similar) and I'll be doing a mix of XC/bikepacking. I'm not much of a suspension connoisseur, so all the reviews I've seen talking about 'mid-stroke support' and 'progressive force inversion valves' are a bit lost on me.
What i'd like the fork to be is:
- reliable
- not heavy (which is not the same as 'lightweight' if you see what I mean)
- a 'normal' fork - not a lauf/jones etc
- decent service intervals (pretty sure I had a set of fox with a 10h service interval. No chance)
I'm still in the budgeting stage of the build so I don't have a budget yet. I'm happy to pay a bit more for something lighter/more reliable as long as we're not past the point of diminishing returns.

DT Swiss OPM have pretty long service intervals, light but stiff too.
Thanks both. I had rebas on the list as my default fork purely because I have old ones on my existing HT.

What's the budget? SID might suit you, some great deals on them
