Looking at a map around Kinver...

I dont want to drive to Kinver, so are there any good routes riding from the Wyre Forest to Kinver?

Any local info appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚

over the footbridge at Upper Arley, stright up the Arley lane, straight over the cross roads, turn right into the first farm (on the right), follow the ace little track down to the stream, turn left & follow the fireroad up to the house, go into the house 'drive' on the right and find the bridal path to castle hill farm. Once you've gotton to the farm & down the first section, take the left turn and follow it to Kingsford lane... ta da!

It's a fantastic couple of sections to descend when dry, a complete **** to climb in the wet. There is another bridal path near bodenham arboretum (off A442), but I tend to climb up that as pretty boring, to get down the castle hill route, so doubtful of it being of use other than to get back later.
Your stuffed by the lack of bridges over the severn, unless you trapse up to the severn valley country park, though circling back via Bewdley is possible is you don't mind a bit of road work.

Or you could drop down to Bewdley, cross the river, stomach the main road toward Kiddermister for a mile then fork left for Wolverley. Go up through Habberley Valley, then down Sandy lane. Straight accross the Bridgnorth road into Lowe Lane, fork right, towards Kidder'. Take bridleway left. At Wolverley road go right. 200 yds then left. Follow bridleway down onto Marpool Gardens. Leave Marpool Gardens via the bridleway across Puxton Marshes and join the canal towpath. Turn left and keep going until Kinver. Stop for a drink at Wolverley lock.

Another vote for Z1ppy's first route.
I've ridden that way many times! ๐Ÿ˜€

I normally use Zippy's route from Kinver to the wyre, so in reverse. Then on the way back climb a sneaky route from the reservoir up to trimpley lane, then 442 towards Kiddy and there is a path on the left after a mile or so, drops through some houses to Sladd Lane, turn right and before the crossroads there is a driveway to a white house that has a path off it to Kingsford Lane

Z1ppy's route is the one. Slightly variation though is about About 100m up Arley lane theres a bridle path on the right. Take that and go up through the woods its much better than slogging up the road. Brings you out at the roughly the same place just turn left when you hit the road at the top for a few meters. Theres lots of different routes through there.

I ride the route 45 quite a bit and I could see that I could head over in that direction, but there is a bit too much road and I wanted a little off road.

I will try the other Arboretum and Goods Green route too.

Cheers.

camerone.. I believe that track down is the corsa-less run ๐Ÿ˜‰ (used to be the corsa run pre them removing the rusting shell of a corsa), have you been down it lately? They were harvesting the woods there last time I went though, and basically created two huge ruts straight across the track... filled my pants when I discovered this at full speed ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Zippy,
did it around 3 weeks ago, the ruts have worn abit smoother now so they don't slow you too much, but brambl-tastic at the moment so arms get shredded

the whole area is brambl-tastic, try the edge or the million & not come back ripped to pieces.
Oh the joys of summer, wear those short sleeve shirt@ work and show off yourself harm scars with pride. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

tell me about it, the enville run has been tragic of late, but I got out and about yesterday (including more hacking away in the million) and it drying up nicely.
Actually looking forward to tonights ride, as I've definitely not enjoyed the last few weeks/months ๐Ÿ˜€

I snuck an hour at lunchtime on the edge. Except the brambles nettles and deliberate log traps it rode very well. !!

Had a bimble down the roman road to blakedown, all drying nicely, if only it stays this way.

@Stratobiker, I have a reasonable knowledge of the area, but as you can see so do a lot of other ppl!

Just found this old thread.
I commute these routes, so know them well.

Or you could drop down to Bewdley, cross the river, stomach the main road toward Kiddermister for a mile then fork left for Wolverley

You can miss out part of the road section by following the river from Bewdley towards the bypass.
Either turn left immediately before the bypass bridge, or the bridleway about 100m before that, then take the track over the road that comes out by Catchems End chippy.

If you're going up through Eymore wood, it can be hard work unless you stick to the fire road, especially in the wet.
Coming back down, there's good single track in the woods on both sides.
