Does anyone happen to know or has been on and can recommend a freeride/DH based skills course? I don't lack 'minerals' but confidence can be dangerous without the ability to back it up!

My last outing i had a close call(contact made) with a rather large tree at speed(wildly out of control) that has prompted me to take action.

Muchos.

You'll probably go out with Andy Barlow - nice chap, very good rider (as you'd expect).

I'd give Jedi a call even just to see what he can recommend you do.

Andy/Dirt School are also doing a skills week out in the Alps with us this summer.

mountainbiking is the same thing. get the foundations correct and where it goes is an individual thing.

I have decent technique i reckon but would like to be given some coaching on bigger/steeper/faster stuff that just ain't available near to where i live. I am also a firm believer in developing good habits from the start. I would love to be able to hit the bigger drops etc with confidence, and hope to hit the Alps with at least a little prior experience. ๐Ÿ˜•

TBH confidence is the key, somewhere to play and start to accumulate some skills with someone to point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the link but it is the more extreme stuff i'm looking for, i.e 3-4 foot drops etc....

I had a look at this site before but it looks like a base level course.

Tomahawk, techniques remain the same regardless ๐Ÿ˜‰

We do one to one tuition (doesn't cost any extra) which we can tailor to suit individual requirements. One thing we always aim to do is alter the way people think about riding ... altering your thoughts can make a massive difference in removing the fear factor.

Cheers
Stuart

I defo agree with you there Stuart. I mainly think that i just get daunted by the big stuff and need to improve my mind set more than anything. Confidence is directly linked to practice IMHO.
