Hi
I am looking at replacing my canondale slate tyres

Looking at any of the 3 above tyres

G ones get good reports and despite the knobbly tread seem to be almost as fast on road
Wtb horizon and byway also seem to be popular but not sure which way to go

All are tubeless
All would fit my frame (schwalbe at 650 x38 wtb 650 x 47)
Any help deciding would be welcome

Thankyou

Fwiw i tend to do 80% road and 20% gravel

Slate is 42mm max afaik. For 80% road on 650s I like the Panaracer Gravel King 42c with the aramid belt (std Panaracer casings flat too easily for my liking). Not tubeless but roll well with thin tubes in.

happy with my G-Ones (35mm) at about the same 80/20 split. Rough gravel is jarring though on 35mm so better with towpaths etc.

Try some of the Compass/ Grand Bois/ Pacenti tyres - I'm currently using Compass Loup Loup Pass 650b/38 and they're very nice to ride.

Won't fit your Slate but I'm impressed with the Horizon. Plenty of grip on all conditions with the exception of sloppy mud and slippery South Diwns chalk, where hilarious wheelspinning is the order of the day!
When I can find a UK stockist I think I'll try the Byway for a little more grip.

Horizons have been very good on the dry trails we've had. I'd like to try the byway for a slightly more British use window.

Although the WTB website claims the Byway will fit, I seriously doubt it will. I use G-One's at 38mm on my Slate, other than on mud they are a very capable tyre...now if only WTB did a 650b Nano at 40c...
