MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Bloody cold yesterday, but virtually mud free.
New mech works well.

Escape from feasting up to Dalby off piseting yesterday. Conditions almost prime (which is incredible really) I don't need to wash my bike!
Just under a couple of hours on Boxing Day messing about in the local pockets of woodland in the north/north-west suburbs of Leeds on the SS Moxie. It's such a good bike - I'm really enjoying riding it!
the hardest and most fun ride I've done in ages, following 3 ebikes and 2 rad teenagers around the MTB trails on a fat bike was challenging!
Predictably the youngsters were the raddest, even when my mates daughter went big on a descent and hit her head on a tree she just got up and finished the trail 😆
Classic gap loop. Every year conditions are so different. First half today - superb, blue skies. dry-ish trails and no wind. Second half, ice, a mini gale, headwinds and did I mention the ice. Such a good day out whatever the weather..
Had a blast at Thredbo with the Reeksy Jrs. It’s Australia’s only chairlift MTB park I think. Top of the lifts are at 1900m. There was even a bit of snow around. First day Reeksy 2 got a pinch flat and I had to put a tube in… then he raced off and took a wrong turn and ended up lost for half an hour. Second day (Xmas day) was freezing but the tracks were nice and not busy at all.
Photos and vid stills from last Tuesday and Xmas day.
Took a day off skiing with wife and adult kids today. Figured at least the lower trails might be possible. (As normal one side of the valley is snow/ice-bound). But actually, the trails on the sunny side were in fantastic condition - and dry as a bone!
It’s almost better than summer time riding. Hardly met any walkers. The trails were a dream!
Quick 80 minutes this morning on the Vandal with fast tyres & rigid forks. Fast! Muddy in spots (I need to find a front mudguard solution for the rigid forks!). Just one boring grey photo!
you know it's bad when you end the ride carrying half your front mudguard otherwise the front wheel won't turn
I need to find a front mudguard solution for the rigid forks!
I use a std front mudhugger ziptied or velcro'd inside the fork. this has worked for the last three years. just tape up the parts on the fork where the MH will rub. Obviously your feet will still get muddy but you'll be able to see where you are going
as seen here
I usually ride my rigid bike on the local trails but it's drivetrain is a bit poorly, so I took advantage of the dry conditions and got the full susser out. And it was great. So good that I had to go up the hill one more time than I normally would to get another run back down. Apart from being too absorbed in the riding, the light wasn’t great, so I didn’t take many pictures. Everything’s a bit brown at the moment.
Some amazing photos people 👍.
A cold a windy Purbeck lap for me, to hit my goal of 250,000 feet of elevation for the year, though I did 2 evening uplifts at Okeford Bike Park, so need another 6,000 by Thursday really.

Managed to get out for a quick spin on the ebike Christmas Day, then went out on the proper bike Boxing Day and Sunday. The trails are running so well atm feels like a real treat when only a couple of weeks ago I was considering putting the nice bikes away for the winter and getting the singlespeed up and running for riding the next few months.
Afternoon tech laps in the overgrown jungle. Got ripped by a nasty vine on my left arm at the start and then every bloody branch and vine I went past after would slap it. Then got my right arm too. Saw a very cool caterpillar and nearly got run down whilst trying to photograph it. Weird because I almost never see anyone riding at this spot.

Trail clearing today. Main climb on the local trails. Before and after. 4 hours hard graft for two of us. My lower back has informed me it is not available for any activities for at least 24 hours 😉 Dug out the mud and leaves to the depth of a shovel blade. Was having impure thoughts about a JCB with a back-hoe 😉
Lovely cold day in Dalbeattie
Made a wrong turn somewhere and ended up well off piste but rewarded by great views down to the sea and a nice barely there singletrack descent
Beautiful out there this afternoon, if a little chilly.

Hot riding here.
Yesterday afternoon at Tewantin. Today at the old gold mining town of Gympie. A fun little network making the most of meagre elevation… and some industrial heritage.
Bit chilly this morning 🥶
I think that tank is pleased to see you...
A final ride over North Dorset in the freezing cold, to bring the yearly elevation total to 256,406”, so 250,000” for unassisted elevation 99% on the Geometron.

Went out first thing this morning, but a mysterious and unsolvable (trailside) air-loss meant an early return after just 6km. Got it fixed, but had jobs to do, so thought that was it for the day/year ...
But, a window opened up later in the afternoon, so went out and finished the ride later on ...
Habitual last day of the year ride this morning. Chilly, muddy in places, but the light was awesome.
And another pink bike!
Grabbed my customary new year's ride this morning. not as bright as yesterday, but also not as cold. Lots of walkers out in the bits of the woods nearest the car park, but empty and beautifully quiet everywhere else.
Not sure if this is the ride photo thread, since it’s nearly a new weekend. Anyway….
First ride of 2026 for me. And it couldn’t have been more beautiful. It’s just lovely riding in crisp conditions and a light covering of fresh snow.
