Well, I couldn't find one ...
Busy weekend this weekend, so just a quick local early one for me. Was sort of after reclaiming a KOM a 'mate' took off me a few weeks back, but with my legs tired after a 20km run yesterday, it was more a sighter than a genuine attempt ...
Trails have lost the dust, but are running mostly firm still.
I posted in the midweek thread yesterday, so apologies for posting the same ride here. But Friday is the weekend in my eyes!
honestly, im still buzzing after a great ride yesterday. Even though I’d ridden the same trails many times, although not recently.
A bit more than the weekend, as we've been on holiday in Grantown on Spey for the week, with another of this parish and his family!
Quick morning ride with my youngest today. Absolutely shattered from a busy week, but wanted to go for a spin and clear my head. My son insisted on cake after, which didn't take much convincing!
Bikes in the woods is the best.
Group ride yesterday at Golfie before all the Endurobros invaded.
No pics as I didn't want to be that guy that's fannying around.
Old school XC ride today only to find we'd been invaded at this end of the valley with Gravelists.
They all seemed to be enjoying themselves which was nice to see.
Beaten my monthly climbing target by a fair old chunk too with just shy of 24,000 Meters.
First ride in 2 weeks for me because of an uncooperative ankle. I went for a short gentle ride to see how it coped and it seems to be OK so far. As I was staying off the more technical stuff, I visited some places I don't go to so often and so was able to check out the orchids.
Up some woods in North Yorkshire today.
Conditions decent but a bit greasy on the roots after the rain this week.
Unfortunately had to kill a squirrel that a dog had maimed (squirrel was in a really bad way just dying by the track). The owners of the dog just ****ed off up the track pretending it hadn't just done it. I had words. Bellends.
Fancied a change for this weekend's ride, so hit up an XC loop instead of heading into the woods to the playgrounds. Nice, chilled ride with a watersplash at the end (which I messed up my camera settings on!).
Had a ride on Friday with my Daughter.
She's got her D of E Bronze Expedition Sunday & Monday and wanted to brush up on map reading and navigation.
Decided to combine it with a ride ....
Saturday was a ride with the boys...wet sloppy rocky stuff.
One of the tracks has just been burnt off so looked brilliant. It's appropriately called Phoenix.
Sunday was a solo gravel adventure. Tyres was going flat just a few ks in so I set it to about 40psi and hoped for the best...proved to be a bit awkward on the Rocky tracks and kept losing rear light and water bottle!
Took some stupid options and plated with some moto riders.
There were some downpours around yesterday, so I was elated that I managed to get out and enjoy some almost-hero-dirt, and get back home just as the rain started. And no bike washing required after - result!
Got back on the roadie after 9 weeks off due to a broken scaphoid on Wednesday. So took said road bike with us to the Lakes and rode a couple of passes. So good to be back outdoors but can't wait to get back off road.
I haven’t done much riding of late for various reasons. So what might seem like a short ride usually was fairly epic compared to recent adventures. Cracking day over Baildon and Bingley. Great ride on the Signal Ti
When I got on the trails the weather was looking a little menacing. The upshot was there was only one other person on the trails. And it didn't rain at all.
Left my bottle behind at the green welly last weekend, and they had put below the counter, so went to fetch today... Success and a delish raspberry bakewell as well..
Really not feeling the love for the hardtail, so gravel spec tyres fitted to the Geometron for speedy XC rides, once Biketart delivers the hub I ordered rather than one I didn’t, I will have 3 sets of wheel, Mullet with Michelin DH tyres, and 2 sets of 29” Enduro set and XC set.
Ended up on the gravel bike again, tempted to sell the MTB (1 ride this year).
Headed to Cambridge along the roman road, the ground is bone dry still...........
Even found a sticker from a local gravel group I didn't know about!!!
