Would a 130mm fork ...

[Closed] Would a 130mm fork work with a Santa Cruz Superlight or Heckler?

I have a 130mm fork....Superlight is 100mm travel, would it be too slack with 130mm fork? Heckler is 150mm (?), so would that be too steep with 130 at the front?

£899 for either frame is tempting but I couldn't afford new forks too...

Trade your forks? They are 2 quite different frames.

I don't think it would kill a Heckler's handling, it would de-warranty a Superlight.

IMO Superlight handles best as a racer/sharpest/fast-bike with 100mm forks, but works well with 120mm (or 115mm in my case) as an all-rounder, but definitely doesn't climb as well. If you can live with that 130mm's would probably work fine, I know several ppl on here run em like that, but it just wouldn't be my choice.

What the forks? Can they be adjusted down, travel wise?

The headtube is braced top and downtube so I don't see it being a problem.

On the warranty-front. Don't tell them?

Ride a 110-140mm fork on a Blur Classic (always wind it down except on bumpy downhill)....expect to be arrested by the SC Police any day now!!
