We're planning to do the C2C2C in a few weeks, staring and finishing in Workington. We'll hopefully be staying the night before the start in a B&B in Workington, so will need to leave the car for a few days as we're not doing it fast, we're enjoying it. It would seem that Workington operates a "disk parking" scheme, so we may have to leave the car elsewhere while we're away - can anyone recommend a suitable location please, where we're likelt to find the car in the same place and condition as we left it?

thanks

the obvious place would be to ask the B&B owner nicely with perhaps a donation to the charity of their choice?

And I will do that - however it's always nice to have options, especially as there'll be another car arriving on the day of departure - as they won't be staying at the B&B they'll need to find parking too.

Working ton would fall under the West Cumbria Parking System which is otherwise known as Operation Screw Them Over.... Fines are quickly dispatched and payment is expected promptly ๐Ÿ™‚ Personally I'd not choose to stay there either with the trainline and main roads out being one of it's major attractions.

I'm racking my brain as to where I would leave the car for a few days down there and I'm not really sure! Hopefully someone currently local may pop along and offer you somewhere.

I'm an ex local of Workington, and whilst there are free car parks all over the place, you really wouldn't want to leave your car in any of them...

How close to the shore do you want to be?

You could leave them along the little road from the melbreak hotel at bridge foot which is about 3 miles inland from Workington. How many cars and when u doing it I live 6 miles away may be able to help. Drop me an email add in profile.

What about those websites where residents rent out their own driveway parking ?

Edit: For example https://www.parkatmyhouse.com/uk/driveways/workington/s/ennerdale-avenue-workington-ca14/

A lot of the B&Bs are used to the C2C crowd and offer free (or cheap)parking. Just find a B&B that offers parking like the Morven House Hotel ๐Ÿ˜€

I am also needing to park next week for the very same reason but I won't be staying in Workinton - any ideas?
