hi guys, might be a daft question but what advantage is there in buying a folding/kevlar tyre vs wire bead, ?

I've used both over the years, both on and off road, racing/riding/etc. Can honestly say I've never noticed a difference, aside from folding being easier to get on and off (marginal in most cases ).

kevlar are slightly lighter and they roll up nicely for easy storage.

Weight, you'll probably notice weight in the tyres more than any where else as it's rotating mass, depending on the tyres obviously but it is possible to lose a pound in weight from the total of your bike by switching to a pair of folders.

folders usually lighter. i tend not to like them on the front, as if you get a sudden deflation, they roll off the rim real easy.
