Warning: this is a dullard newbie question, I am stupid, thank you for helping.
I have a singlespeed 29er, and want to start using it to ride to work.
It has WTB wheels (IIRC), and I saw that there are 29er slick tyres - these for example:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=36427
Should these fit a normal 29er wheelset?
If so, do I need narrower tubes or (ahem) do I just inflate them less?!!
I know this is deeply clueless, but please help a man out 🙂
Thanks.
They are 28".... surely you need 29" ?
It'll work. Don't worry about the tubes. The same ones will be fine.
28", 29er, 700C.
All the same size internal diamiter.
yes
Have a look at the Continental versions too - some are coming with free inner tubes and a 1 yr anti puncture warranty.
I 2nd TooTall - CRC have plenty of 700c Continentals in 37/42/47/54 sizes to suit and some are cheaper as well (and an extra 10% off until tomorrow).
I have a set of 700x42c (Spesh not Conti) which i have found fine on my 29er. I'd have gone for a slightly wider size but i paid £4 each for my tyres in the sale from Edinburgh cycles in their sale.
They'll do the job, but if you want to go faster get Schwalbe Marathon Racers which will fit your rims, or even Schwalbe Big Apples if you want a bit of comfort with it.
Thanks all. I am now in possession of the facts 😛
