So I've got the New Saint Groupset making it's way to me, changed up front to a single ring. With the new clutch system in the Shimano derailleurs will I need the lower part of a full chain guide?
I'm aware the top bit is needed to stop the chain jumping inwards, but is there enough tension from these rear mechs that the lower section isnt needed?
So could run a Freechucker for instance?

Only you know how rough the trails are on your usual haunts, but this may help you to decide -

I'm getting away with just the top bit. Cotic rocket, sram xo medium cage Mech. It hasn't come off at all so far
Hmmm, so it's just a choice of whether I want to be totally safe from it or half risk it.
I'm thinking with the Saint rear mech being super short cage as well then there's even less chance?
