Will boost cranks mess up my no boost set up?

Hi, looking at getting new cranks and see you can pick up an NX groupset half price at the mo. Was planning on keeping the spare and converting to 12speed when when my current drive chain wears out.

I am currently on 11speed non boost with a gxp BB.

The new groupset is boost so does that mean the cranks spindle will be longer than my current set up and therefore mess up the chain line? Could this be resolved with BB spacers?

Or should I just look for non boost cranks/groupset?

Does NX have a direct mount chain ring? If it does, you could replace the one installed (will probably be a 3mm offset) with a 6mm offset and it adjusts the chain line back to non-boost.

SRAM uses a boosted chainring.
Shimano uses a boosted crank axle.

Just use a zero offset chainring

Swap the chainring ! Sell the one you take off.

Yep, that'll do it.

6mm offset 49mm non-boost

3mm offset 52mm chainline - Boost

0mm offset -55mm chainline something something new Boost Shimano back pedalling something Transmission but absolutely not Super Boost

I got a boost chainring (on a race face crank) for my non-boost bike by mistake. I haven't noticed any difference in shifting

you'd probs not, but there's every chance you're wearing everything out a bit quicker.
