Anyone tried going 2.6” or wider?
I’ve got used to 3” Minions on my Stache and am looking at 2.8s in 27.5 size but reckon this might be pushing it.

I have the exactl same question.
I have a pair of standard Hopetech Enduro 29” wheels on pro four hubs. I’m assuming they are 23mm internal.
What is the widest tyre I can run? Can I go past 2.4?
If not. What would be a good big tyre to run?

Running 2.5 minion WT on a 25mm rim and a 30mm rim on the front of difference bikes. No discernible difference. You can push tyre widths on narrower rims further than the marketing bods would have you believe is my general feeling on this.
Is 2.8 too far on 23mm ID? Maybe - only one way to find out. Sorry, I've not tried it. Bet 2.6 would be fine.
