Looking into my next bike - no shops near me have stock :/ and want to stick with Whyte

Im just under 6ft 3 with no shoes on, and my inside leg is 87cm so according to what i should go standover height wise id be right to go for XL. However, looking at the size of the bikes it looks like id max out on a Large being from 5ft 11 - 6ft 3, and an XL from 6ft 3 - 6ft 6. Iv put the link to the geometry below 🙂

Tough decision to make but do you think the XL would be best suited?

The seatubes look very long on those - (A size, or even 2 sizes, up from what they should be really these days - lots of manufacturers are doing bikes with reach in the 480-490 range paires with seat tubes that are a good 30 to 40mm shorter than they Whyte).

The general shape would be tending towards someone with longer than average legs for their height.

So you need to measure your current BB to saddle height, and then work out from there whether your actually going to be able to fit the bike with the dropper post slammed in the frame.

You will need to know - Dropper Post stack height (looks like the Whyte branded post is adustable, its more than likely the Brand X like everyone else uses).

You also need to confirm the maximum insertion depth in the frame and whether the post can be 'slammed' if needed.

Personally, I prefer a larger bike due to the higher front as I get neck ache from looking ahead on a 'smaller' bike. I am 6' and I ride Orange Crush L, Orange Five XL and a Whyte T130 L (which I mean to sell). But I am in my late 50's.

I just spoke to Trailhead in Shrewsbury and they said they wont be getting anything in stock again due to Whyte going down the E-Bike Route,, however as soon as i said what size i was - just under 6ft 3 he said id need an XL.

But..im still doing my research to make sure i can see how it will fit.

i'm 6'1" / 186cm, i've got an e180rs in large. I'd say I'm borderline needing the XL. My crush and alpine 6 are all large and I reckon they're pretty much identical in feel of fit.

Based on the reach, I'd definitely say XL.

I'm 5ft8in and my big bike has a longer reach than the L.
