Got a Whyte branded dropper on my E150 and on the last ride it's developed a fair bit of play up and down and is acting more like a suspension seat post now.

I've took it out the frame and disconnected the cable to rule that out and it's still doing it.

I have a feeling it may be a brand x dropper that is rebranded as Whyte.

Anyone ever come across this before ?

Post is 3 rides old and less than 50 miles.

Pretty common on the Facebook group. Standard answer seems to be to check the pressure and pump it up

Pump it up?

I thought it was a sealed cartridge?

Got a link to the Facebook page please

Due to the wonderful way Facebook works, no I can’t. However, it’s called Whyte Bikes - Owners so pretty easy to find.

iirc it’s basically a Brand X post. No bad thing. I don’t own one though so I could always be talking shite

Sounds like too much cable tension. Try slackening it off with the lever's barrel adjuster.

Mine been fine, they have good support just throw it back at them.
Not much you can do if it’s the same with the cable disconnected.

Is it the adjustable travel dropper, or the original drop it II one? Both are sealed cartridge AFAIK.

Mine has the adjustable which looks identical to this TranzX.

If 3 rides old I'm sure Whyte would just swap it out.

Have you checked the travel-adjustment bushing thingy is located properly? Just unscrew the top.
