[Closed] Why the sudden reduction in Specialized Fuses?

I've been looking at the Rockhopper Expert as a cheapish hardtail to compliment my 140mm trail bike that I find cumbersome on XC rides when I noticed last night that the 3 alloy Fuses have all been reduced by 33%. This has now got me thinking about one of them instead!
Does anyone know why they would reduce them so early in the season?
Would you choose a £850 Rockhopper or a £999 Fuse for long XC rides?
Any comments gratefully received.

at a guess they haven't sold well and they are trying to clear stock.

Fat bike - not for long xc rides for me.

Buying stuff you weren't originally looking at just because it's cheap often doesn't work out well

I was looking at these with a friend at the weekend. A fuse isn't a full fat bike despite the name - it's a more semi-skimmed 650b+ with 'only' 3 inch tyres. If you want something for all-day bikepacking trips then I'd go for the fuse, or if you want something lighter and a bit more aggressive then go for the rockhopper.

Crikey, that's it, B+ is finished.

I wish they'd reduced them last week though, I'd have probably had the expert over the Vitus I got. Never mind.

How much would I need to pay you to get you to follow my wife around the shops constantly repeating that in her ear?

It'd probably still be cheaper than the succession of BOGOF's and 3 for 2's we end up with

It's probably because 2.6" is the new 3"
