I just bought a full gear set from Merlin, Shifters, front and rear mech and it only came with 3 pieces of outer cabling.
As i work it out you need 5?
Why do they decide only to put 3 in?

Next question is why do Shimano pre-cut the outers in the XTR kit? You're still going to need cutters to fit them properly but cutting them up makes them less useful. Grr.
