Not me. Written today off completely. Tidied up, ate nachos and watched the A-Team.
Windsurfed for a couple of hours, my arms have extended themselves by 100mm..
None for me, been cleaning out the camper after last weekends wet and muddy Enduro at Gisburn
Thought I would only be doing pretty direct commutes today, but Brian was disappointing here, so did a gentle hill climb meander home... Even when I didn't have a headwind, I was dying from heat exhaustion inside the waterproofs I had on ready to face the barrage that never came! 😆

Nope, Saturday's the only day I don't ride. Always look forward to it. Family brekkie, took the boy swimming, developed a couple of rolls of film, now scanning them while they're having a siesta.
Planned ride abandoned due to absolutely grim weather and a weapons grade hangover. Its sheeting down horizontally out there!
I've actually got a load of work done instead though. Well... I've drawn some pictures. Thats work, right?
Monday Night Pub Ride will be looking something like this....
a 5 minute test ride round LBS car park on a Tarn 20 and a 5 min ride outside house to check new mudhugger I’d just fitted to my Soul wasn’t rubbing.....
Skipped it due to forecast, but looks okay out there in Surrey. Just a little breezy.
#stormiambrianandsoismywife
Actually quite sunny here (London) but soooo windy!
Yep. Easy out, harder on the way back.
Did 50km loop on road bike somehow seemed to have a head wind all ride
First trip out on the mtb for 3 months due to knee injury. Just some old school xc north of Leeds. The wind and rain didnt matter - I was out on my bike 🙂 That said, I was so slow, trying to protect my knee, the wind didnt make any difference 😆
Coffee and cake in front of the stove is now welcome though!
If only!!! Still waiting for the useless ****ers at SRAM to send my shock back, nesrly 10 days now.Knew I should have forgone the warranty and sent it to tf tuned etc. Still no idea when I'll see It!
It was fine at FOD this morning at first light. Only one small tree was down blocking a trail.
Saw a stag with bloody great big antlers! First time I’ve seen one. If he can run between the trees with those I should have no problem with 800mm wide bars 😉
Took a quick lap of Twrch at Cwmcarn this morning, tbh it wasn’t bad. I walked a short bit of the climb that’s tricky and on a bit of a ledge just in case and the red option on Airwave just in case.
Promised the family a day out tommorrow and a promise is a promise.
I dont even own a bike.. just come here to read the posts by the lefties for entertainment 😀
Yeah of course, Watopia mountain this morning.
Been to the shops on my shopping bike & even that was a tad moist, since 2pm its been sheeting down so much that the sound of water running off the gutters on my workshop into my garden water storage system meant I kept needing a waz so have come inside & decided to bake bread 🙂
Just did a 29 miler on the CdA. Was noticeably more windy on the way back!
Went to Hamsterley and did the red route for the first time. Beautiful day up there and enjoyed the trails, particularly the newly built stuff.
Yes but only because I'm in finale ligure and the weather is quite pleasant.
Yes went out around Woburn and wasn't feeling it today. Sweating like mad in the sun then bitter cold in the tree shade. It was a ride and bit of cardio so still almost enjoyed it.
Ahsat - where did you go? Was going to do the Harewood loop but i imagine some of the bits getting there will be neck deep and churned up by horses.
Converted my Solaris Max to 11 speed so all bikes are now 1x11. Celebrated by going to the pub. Rode yesterday 'before the brian'. Should go riding tomorrow but after 3 weeks of dry and dusty trails, not sure I can face it..
hurt my back yesterday, so a crap nights sleep. wasnt feeling it this morning but went to the north yorks moors.
back aching, blowing a gale, sacked it off after an hour an a half having travelled 8 miles. when you have to pedal downhill to keep moving its time to cut your losses. is disappoint. didnt rain tho......:)
Yep managed 16 miles this morning, breezy on the way back but no big deal really. Had to go outdoors when everything else this week was indoors!
Local ride around the Saltburn area on what was a nice sunny autumn morning. It's pretty miserable outside now mind.
Yeah sure did, started out with blue skies......only 15mins in all hell broke loose-strong winds and driving heavy rain.Stuck with it and still had fun.
Nudged me to put the winter tyres on this afternoon though.
Working & listening to people moaning about how its a chore to be riding today. I wish i was riding, rain & wind or not
Had a fun little slither around my local trails this morning. I finally started to 'get it' after an hour and half with the sliding around. Every autumn/winter is the same, a bit of persistent rain and I feel like a total newbie on the bike. Get used to the tyres breaking away eventually and then start to have some fun aiming at the insides of corners and letting it slide around.
I didn't moan - I rode.
Found some new stuff while exploring on the old Open U.P. 🙂
Did a couple of hrs with the trail hound up and around Darwen tower, got back just as the rain came in!
I managed to get out before the rain, but it started while I was making my way home. It was a bit blowy in places but good fun none the less.
Just under an hour on a closed circuit on the fixie. Tailwind up the hill and headwind down it helped me keep a nice even effort.
2.5hts out in the wind and rain, old skool XC on bridleways and around fields.
Deer, birds of prey - including one being trained by a falconer
Refuelling with beer and ice cream now
Ahsat - where did you go? Was going to do the Harewood loop but i imagine some of the bits getting there will be neck deep and churned up by horses.
We've never done a ride round there before but did Bramhope > Harewood > Golden Acre > Bramhope. It was generally all fine. Few muddy bits but nothing too bad.
A few of us managed 3 or 4 hours round Hebden Bridge this morning, sat outside the boozer with a pint at lunchtime before the heavens opened. Great day
I did, twenty miles or so, a mixture of on and off road, very windy but missed the rain, Mary Ann Hobbs in my ears.
For a change - yes. 2 of us have done a rather entertaining circuit in the Highlands, 25 miles up and over Carn na Saobhaidhe in the Monadliath. First Corbett on the bike. We didn't get wet to speak of (except in the fords) until it rained as we drove back to Fort William. In fact, the weather's really been quite amenable for late October; come to Scotland, it's lovely!
It was too windy to cycle, but a top day for windsurfing. Mast high and maxed on a 4m and some crazy loops. Fantastic day and the sun even made an appearance. Everything hurts and off for a bear. Good times.
Had a shortened Borrowdale Bash but still got soaked, mild out but pretty blowey.
Nidderdale MTBO, lovely day out with beautiful views and weather, and got back just as the rain was starting 🙂
Hilly 10km run in the end.
Eldest lad wanted a training ride in Bowland, so we had a rather blowy 3.5 hours whilst everyone sensible was probably sheltering in Gisburn Forest. North over Cross of Greet (tailwind) to Wray and then back off road over Salter Fell / Hornby Road. Massive crosswind on the limit of rideable and rather wet crossing the top. Didn't see any MTBs and just one walker. 51km and 1000m climbing - not great prep for CX tomorrow.....
Managed a 35 mile road ride around the edge of The Bowland fells, Lancashire. Rather blowey in places, what the wind gives in one hand it takes away in another

In fact, the weather's really been quite amenable for late October; come to Scotland, it's lovely!
I cycled from Castle Douglas to Dumfries to get the train home after a weeks holiday. Stopped for a cream cake in a bus shelter, when a guy gardening in the house opposite said hello. It was raining and blowing a gale at the time, but I said we’d been lucky over the week with the weather, the look on his face almost had my wife pissing herself 🙂
Saw my first ever otter, worth all the wind and rain!
very windy but missed the rain, Mary Ann Hobbs in my ears.
This is the best description of rain I have ever read
Great day up round over Loughrigg Fell yesterday. Drove home today as didn't fancy a muddy day.
Where was that Bikebouy? I used to be a windsurf addict but have been dry for about 6 years now 😉
Camber was my local beach. Days like that used to scare me silly but were so epic!
rode to work this morning, was absolutely flying... like crazy speed, i was averaging 25mph until i rode into the wind... ah... that's why i was so fast then.... still averaged 21mph on the overall ride in... going home in an hour or so, hopefully it's a bit less blowy now
Rode out yesterday afternoon to test the new tent against Brian wet and windy night then met up with some mates for a ride around Weatherlam and Coniston then rode home

Had a good play on the down hill trails in the Fod today , bit greasy in places but surprisingly dry after all the recent rain .
^^^ Awesome pic carrying the bike across the stream Postierich 🙂
Forgot my shinpads and or course properly gouged my shins
cheers kayak
Wow, yeah, gorgeous pic that first one. Love the angle on the river winding away into the hills.

Grand day, pretty benign conditions.
Loving that pic too Postierich!
Just 2 hr road ride trying to improve my hill climbing. Bit of a beast session.
Friday:
Lovely ride through South Devon to pick up the bits I needed to fix the electrics on my truck.
[/img]
Saturday:
Ran (& walked) the Salcombe Coastal Marathon.
Some of the time it rained ...

Got gusts of 118 km/h (& I actually saw, (but didn't photograph) 122 km/h):

Sunday:
I wasn't sure that 10 hilly miles on a single speed bike was the best-ever recovery idea after Saturdays marathon, but ... nevertheless, took my Unit out for 10 hilly, muddy miles in the countryside.

That stream crossing adventure ^ looks great fun (probably didn't feel quite like that at the time tho')
🙂
Holyhead to Bristol, started Friday night 10pm, stopped in Menai Bridge that night, then Rhayadar last night. Yesterday was horrendous, today was almost enjoyable.
Went to Blue Derby to sort out my riding...
Rode the golfie for the first time. Felt like a complete novice. Changed my position on the bike and had more success. Just need to remember my brave pills next time.
Had 9 brave souls turn out for my FLAB ride, 27 miles on the lanes across south Derbyshire and bits of Leicestershire.
Was windy, lumpy and I probably should have knocked the big hill in the middle on the head and shortened it by 2-3 miles, but everyone battled round. A good café stop is always good for morale!
I managed 38 minutes at Golfie before an OTB left me with a cut on my chin needing 4 stitches. Thanks to the guys who stopped to see if I was alright.
North Downs yesterday afternoon. Cashed in some hard-earned brownie points over Fri/Sat. Back home for roast pig with all the trimmings. Epic
