Not keen to play royal roulette, I was thinking collectplus but they have a £50 insurance limit it seems... Really needs to be someone I can drop it off with, courier collection isn't realistic. Any suggestions?

I used these lot recently to send my shock to Loco

http://www.interlinkdirect.co.uk/

But they had a depo (DPD) locally that i could drop it off, not sure if they give you a convenient slot for pick up or not.

If it's air avoid Royal Mail or parcel force but if it's coil they're fine, I've had no problems recently used them to post a set of old pikes I sold on eBay

I've used Parcel Force for forks and a frame with an air shock recently, both delivered ok.
They're crap with rucksacks though

Sent frame with shock and returned some new Pikes to Merlin with Parcel force. No problems.

Cheers, interlink look like a good 'un (incidentally, if you start to place an interlink order then don't complete, they email you a £5 discount code). Not been very impressed with myhermes when receiving, they're the kings of leaving it in the bin!

Just used collectplus, you can up the insurance for a few quid more, up to about £300 I think?

Ah- I am a div apparently, it's just tucked away on the second screen. Cheers! Will be using collectplus then.

had hassle with parcelforce over the last few weeks with a set of floats that I was convinced I would never see again as they were set to one side as dangerous due to compressed air. Even after informing them the all air had been removed they returned them to be rather than send them on (same risk?)

I need to send some forks, looks like collectplus' box limit rules them out sadly.

50 centimetres x 50 centimetres x 60 centimetres

myhermes last time I sent forks anywhere. Signature on delivery can be specified (extra cost), as well as insurance and they're about the cheapest too 🙂

I used My Hermes a week or so ago to send one I sold. All good.

On principle, I now will not send anything other than a letter by Royal Mail (both work and personal) - I'd rather support more couriers and force some competition into the marketplace.

More competition in the marketplace that would be good!!!!!!Let the couriers deliver there own letters/TNT/uk post/DHL etc.
