Prices seem to have shot up last couple of years.
PF coming out at £35 even for a low value £150 frame.
TIA

I use Postage Supermarket and if you can get the box dimensions down (110 x <60 x ~25) it's around a tenner for Parcel Force, it's more if you want insurance though.

the cost of sending is cheap - PF via senditnow.com can be under 15 quid, and abotu 15 quid on a next day AM delivery. It's the extra insurance they nab you on these days. I always just take a punt and don't bother with extra insurance.

I've just sent one using PF. £15 collected from home + £200 insurance.

Booked through their website etc. Going via the Post Office just seems a rip off - 2 days earlier I'd sent a set of handlebars and it cost me £12! For a set of £25 bars...

Cheap couriers don't necessarily deliver and nor does their insurance always cover.

You pays your money and takes your chances.

Postal intermediaries can cause contractual problems as the courier has a contract with Parcel2Go etc and not you. You contract is with the intermediary.

Size is a big factor more than weight when it comes to frames, as they do a volumetric calculation as well as a weight assessment.

Why not Hermes, Zippkona?

(Just sent a frame with them!). 🙁

Basically depends if you want insurance or not. But the irony is, if you're using a cheap shipper because they're cheap, that's exactly when you most need insurance.

I posted my Ragley Ti by myhermes, totally happy with that tbh- I've now posted about 1200 items with them and they've lost 3 and broken 1, that's fine by me, especially since the claims took under a day to get full refunds.

Man came to collect frame in a box of allowed dimensions.
My wife signed his machine and got the box to give to him.
He said he couldn't take it as it was too big.
Cue lots if wrangling on their shit live chat.
They say they won't refund as according to their log the frame has been collected.
Their resolution department have an email you can't respond to. Total shower of shit.
Luckily I paid by paypal. As yet they have not responded to paypal a week later.
We ordered a sound bar from amazon that hermes delivered to us. It was no good so arranged a return. The same man that delivered the sound bar to us won't take it to return as it is too big.
He is supposed to be coming back this afternoon. I might just kill him.

I use ICD, seems to cost £16 regardless of how big/many boxes I send for 12:00 next day delivery! Not tried to send a frame with them but sent plenty of frame sized boxes.

I used 'Send it Now' recently and dropped it off at the post office. About £25-30 and got there fine.

Scared of the Hermes horror stories. I detest dealing with these contact centres when stuff goes wrong.
