Apparently the last 300 places went in the space of 7 minutes this morning so demand's obviously quite high! Any other STWers got their names down? What should I expect as a first-timer?

Any other general advice/photos/war stories would also be most welcome...

I got my entry in (ages ago) and also found out today I've bagged a place on the Fred Whitton sportive too. Time to start training I think.

I managed to get a place this morning. I have done this three times before and enjoyed it each time. Key advice is to take it easy to start and don't overbook it at the beginning...it's a long way and there are some big drags. None of the climbs are hard just long . Being comfortable in a group makes it a lot easier. Don't do what I did first time out is think this group is a bit slow, shoot out and bridge to another group only to get overtaken by the "slow group" later when the fast group dropped me off the back deeper into the ride.

I got into the fred as well!!

Did the dragon last year IMO its pretty tame. Did the full 112 miles but it was kind of wierd as a lot of it was in urban areas.

I am used to riding in the lakes not through housing estates - so the fred should be right up my street
