I've got all week off. 50 road miles today, cut gate tomorrow, back on the road Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. ๐
Day off tomorrow, so going to head out early I hope. Spend the day in the hills
Sunburn here too (Ayrshire). Run half marathon distance for the first time, I'm a wee bit pink now, and knackered, in a good way.
Me. Did a nice big loop round Ladybower. Spectacular. ๐
No riding today but mrscarlos bunked off work this afternoon so we had a bit of mummy and daddy time ๐ and then we picked the kids up after school went to the park and had ice cream (I had an oyster ,mmm)
I had a fantastic 20 mile ride across the south downs today. Zigged and zagged until I could travel no more. Encountered one or two walkers and a horse rider who was the epitome of a horse rider, attractive, well mannered & a beautifully soft voice. Well, until her dog started misbehaving and the she-demon was released. Nearly gave myself whip lash spinning round to see what was happening.
Oh and sunburnt like hell! Damn my African Sunrise coloured hair (and now skin)
A customer agreed to meet me in Peebles next week for a meeting, it was either there or Dumfries....what a coincidence I've just put the bike rack on my new car.
Just an hour of singletrack at lunchtime ๐
Up on exmoor today blue skies
trails fast and dusty and the
tea room at horner was open for
hot chcolate and cake!
The 60 mile road ride last sat
has fired the legs up, rode some
brutal climbs today but enjoyed
the descents ๐
May have to do the quantocks tmrw.
Yep had a few hours of dirt jumping ๐ Got 2 days at work then riding Woburn on Friday, hope the weather keeps up.
Gypsy glen descent today, as good and fast as ever, didn't see a soul.
Not a day off, but smashed myself to bits after school chasing kom s.
Damn you strava
Got this week off. Result.Been mixing up the road rides and Afan all week...and it's only TUESDAY ๐
Gypsy Glen descent? Did you not climb up there like? Helicopter? Uplift via 4x4?
Me, I've been off but spent most of today lying on a hard floor as my back is ****ed! Brilliant!
Dartmoor Sunday, Dartmoor again on foot on Monday, 3 laps of Verderers at FOD today, mostly under tree cover but still proper hot and great to be out.
Back to work for the next 2 days but I'm hoping the weather holds out for another ride on Dartmoor on Friday, then whatever the weekend brings.
What an amazing week
I had an outstanding day on Dartmoor today 26 miles in superb sunny warm weather on bone dry trails - long may it last ๐

40 miles in the Chilterns for me; stonking day that finished with a beer on the decking, sunbathing ๐
Great pics there c-b. Can I ask where that trail is in Dartmoor?
Kinda. I was off today, but had chores to do then looking after 4 kids. Slightly jealous of your epic adventures but got some manual and nose wheelie practise in the street, so not all was lost. Inners this weekend should make up for it.
1/2 day today and yesterday so 3hrs out both days, cotswold woods with lots of light and buff singletrack. Grinning? You better believe it!
Most excellent photos chaps, most excellent.
I'm "off" for a while and am fitting in rides within some unavoidable constraints, so tomorrow it'll be S'th Downs from Arundel to Lewes (incl some of the SDW) on my 29erSS, yesterday was rattling around "That London" on my foldie, today it's been my more normal S'th Downs roadie stuff then I'll do some cheeky trails in the northern part of the New Forest later in the week.
It is/has/should be one of the best weeks to just get out there.
Most excellent.
Rode all seven munros on the Ben Lawers massif on Sunday. Yesterday was an old skool return to Glen Ample on the 29er with my mate Pete and today was a cracking back road circuit to Kippen and back with my good lady and little un. Pub lunch in the beer garden, trip to the swing park, gentle spin home and dinner army folks al fresco. Winner!
Bucko - MemberDartmoor Sunday, Dartmoor again on foot on Monday, 3 laps of Verderers at FOD today, mostly under tree cover but still proper hot and great to be out.

You made it to FoD then buddy....did you enjoy Verderers? Could be riding on Dartmoor on Saturday if you fancy it?
I did yesterday, excellent ride up in the lakes following a route from an issue of Singletrack from a month or two back! Out around the back of Skidaw 53km and I think we saw about 4 people all day. Dry dusty trails all the way. Might have to get the bike out and call it work tomorrow.
I did. Got some munrobagging done.

Lovely commute home along the towpath tonight - does that count?
Not me. Did commute 90km in the sunshine though. 96km yesterday, probably same again tomorrow as well. I love riding in this weather ๐
bedmaker.. thats an awsome picture. massive envy going on here.
hugor been a while since ive seen the doethie dry like that. may have to pop up before the rain comes back. have to say ive never seen a goat up there though. ๐
Still a bit of bog around!

Watching your front wheel disappear into a metre of bog causes very sudden OTB moments!

Oh and the goat was from Cheddar Gorge on Sunday. I get around. ๐
900m climb in 35k is good going. didnt have the day off but managed to get out at 6pm and still saw plenty sun and sunset for a lovely ride.
hugor - today was a Princetown/Burrator/Princetown loop with 2 x descents on the Widowmaker & a visit to the TV mast for a last descent to Princetown, 26 miles of dry trails in the sunshine, shame about the Easterly headwind tho.
Had a roasting day on the coast. 1 meter low tide exposes a lot of usually covered rock, slimey in places, super smooth slick rock in other bits ๐

Made a wee film...
@ c-b thanks. ๐
Plan was to visit Dartmoor this weekend for the first time.
Will look at that loop.
hugor - I can send you some GPX files for various Ptown/Burrator loops if you want?
Drop me an email (addy in profile) & I'll send them to you.
Was out around Ladybower and Castleton on Friday and there were bucket loads of bikes out. Plenty of paragliders on Mam Tor too. Happy days.
Ace rides, glad it was not me out on my own...although it was ๐
Rode all seven munros on the Ben Lawers massif on Sunday.
Fair play!
great video coast kid
I wish.... Flat out building moonlanders and fargos for you lucky b@stards... When the weather is crap I have thumb twiddling time... Nice weather and I am stuck in the shop... I really must not complain.. BUT

Out for an epic evenign ride tonight on the dry moors ๐
A cheeky skive yesterday afternoon, for a dozen miles or so in Wyre and met a "colleague" for a quick ride round some new bits ( to us) off piste at Cannock Chase earlier today. Lovely sunshine and tan line requiring long sleeves for when I'm back at the office on friday.
Looks like many of you have had some really nice rides in the sun this week. Good on yer !
first ride since I dislocated my shoulder, ok so it was on the road bike, but still, a lovely circuit around leeds and otley, smeared in factor 50 and feeling great!
Not a full day off as I've got a 15000 words dissertation to write in the next week and a half, but I nipped out for an hour or so today and yesterday. Beautiful days, great rides and refocused the mind for more writing.
You lucky ba*tards, I have been led up with a chest infection since Saturday that does not want to leave, absolutely gutted I can't get out and ride ๐
As an international man of mystery (currently unwaged) I am lucky enough to choose when I ride! Mabie was fast and dusty today

YYYEEESSS!!! ๐
Took a day off work and spent 6 hours in the saddle. Settle -> Kirkby Stephen via a range of the best Yorkshire Dales tracks ๐
Hope others can make the most of the good weather...
Rode Castleton and Ladybower on Friday also, Blue BFe with stupid bars. Got to the top of Mam Tor for about 11, couldn't see a thing! Fog and children everywhere, very strange.
Did the same loop again today, clear from Mam Tor! Got a bit wild on the way down though, nearly nailed myself on a sandy corner into a rock garden. Pretty sure I got mild heat stroke as I felt dead funny on the train home. Managed to bag a couple of KOMs on Strava too, still a second or 2 off the shorter Beast segment mind. Loads of walkers and a few bikes out.
Took the arvo off and had a play in the Black Mountains in Wales.
Unfortunately I'm starting to struggle with recovery and sore legs after riding for 6 days straight now..
This fine weather better ease up for a day or 2!

Hello, well I kicked it today, I did the SDW from Arundel to The Millburrys (near Winchester. Now I know the convention is to do it the other way but hey, oh and one more thing.. I did it on my winter hack Roadie... I know..! I didn't change a thing, slicks (well GP4's) and the same gearing. It was a little hard at times with the gravel and scree but all in all it was just hard pack chalk and singletrack.. The sun shone all day, I'm sunburnt and in need of a pint.Photo of "daisy" later when I've sorted the upload to Picassa out..
eighth ride in eight days today, what a week to have off, even got one of those silly cyclist tans

I've been lucky enough to have the week off. The other halfs birthday so couldn't spend the whole week biking.
However, done the longmynd loop, new hopton woods route and the downhill tracks, the beast of Brenin which I haven't done for over a year which was spectacular yesterday in the sun and a visit to cannock chase which due to the weather was actually quite fun.
Bike performed a treat, not sure there is a better way to spend my time ๐
9 hrs of sweet trail riding so far this week! Trails empty. Turbo/road work in the winter is paying out as legs are good. Happy.
went to penmachno for the first time and did both loops. i was a bit out of my depth to be honest, it was a bit hair raising. managed two minor offs and a couple of near misses. weather was excellent and the trail was more or less bone dry apart from on the lee side of the hill which was waterlogged. brilliant views wish i had taken a camera with me.
met a couple of other riders which is a rarity at penmachno i believe, hello to the bloke on the white pivot who passed me up the fireroad just over halfway round, next time i'll catch ya.
Nope ridden everyday except Wednesdays, and haven't ridden in the sun yet. Sunday was bright but cold, not worn shorts yet either.
I'm feked orf with picassa I can't upload my photo of "daisy" my winter hack (boardman team carbon roadie) when I do, you'll understand why I call her "daisy"
I wore 3/4 bibs, merino underlayer and roadie top, I was baking, temp gauge said 28C at one point (optimistic??) can't believe it was ever that hot.
Had me pint now at The Flower Pots in Cheriton.. burpidge.
Yeh had a superb ride in Pitmedden today, trails were in great nick looking forward to Muckmedden ๐
Just picked up a flyer for that ๐
A dry Pitmedden ,awesome ๐ฏ ๐
The Sidlaws were super dry and fast today<you could almost sprint up the big climbs. 8)
Great film coastkid, really enjoyed that!
Rocketdog- well shot pic ๐
cheers fenred
