I live just south of Nottingham and have watched the thread with interest as I often ride the road bike round this way. Just got a new bike (took it to the peak on Sunday) and keen to ride a bit more local to home so I'll come and join in if your nice to me. 7pm in Woodhouse Eaves car park right?

Of course, all are welcome. I'll be there on the beast.

The plan is to be ready to ride at 7

ready to ride at 7
Things have changed ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm hoping to get out for a ride tonight. I'm not sure I'll be there by 7, and if I do then I may well have to leave you to it either due to an intermittent knee injury or my complete lack of fitness, having only ridden about 100 miles in the last 6 months. But I know my way around the area well enough so no problems if that happens.

So I might be there, or might bump into you somewhere in the area. Either way, have fun - looks like a nice evening for it!

Well the 'ready at 7' thing is more of an aspiration :). It's not like we all leave at 7 on the dot even if some folks are still getting ready

Haha, no worries. I just remember the first few of these there was always one (usually me tbh) who turned up at 5 or 10 past when everyone else was ready to go. Makes sense to be specific. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I'm running late tonight and I'd be even later than that by the time I load up the car and drive over so will just head out from home instead and leave the group thing for another week. My physio would approve anyway since I'm still supposed to be riding gently.

Have a good one!

Was it you that I passed as you were coming up the short, sharp one in Woodhouse Eaves last night?

Great ride last night people - one of the very best. Mud? Just think of it as sticky dust.

A got a bit of a frosty reception rolling in at 10-55pm having sunk a couple of pints, but shit happens.

placid - if you're up for a Wednesday evening ride you know where to find us........

Last night more than made up for all those December/January/February nights when the wind was howling and it was pissing down.

No major mechanicals, no crashes. Always a bonus.

I won't be available next week as I am away with work to Amsterdam (yes - it really is work).

See you in a fortnight when I will bring some money and get the first round in ๐Ÿ˜ณ

What's the matter - afraid you'll lose your niche status? ๐Ÿ™‚

Me and Jen (Mrs Fatbob) are doing the MTB Marathon at Church Stretton on 29th June.

Just wondered if anyone else was interested, I think Scandal and Rob were talking about maybe doing it a few weeks ago.

We are going to camp there Saturday Night (ride is on Sunday) but it is only a couple of hours away so just going Sunday would be an option, I think it starts at 10:00

50km or 75km Routes, Shropshire/ Long Mynd riding, Beer & Entertainment - so any interest?

Me, Rob and 1 other mate from London are definitely doing it Bob.

Going down Saturday night and will probably have a couple of brewskies on the Saturday evening.

Would be great to meet up down there.

I only came to say I won't be playing tonight...doesn't look like anyone else either though! ๐Ÿ˜‰
If anyone does make it out, have fun you crazy kids.

I'm out too. Just got back from a long ride in the peaks and am utterly shattered. Even getting to the pub would be too much for me

Can't guarantee i'll be out but I'll be trying to.

Totally forgot what day it was due to having Monday and last week off work. If I get out i'll scoot past the pub just in case.

Would love to come - looks like a cracking night for it, but as I can hardly climb the stairs now perhaps it wouldn't be wise

Not even heard of it tbh, will certainly check it out.

The regulars will be pleased to hear that the ride was saved as I at least got a ride in on my tod from the pub, not sure about Jez?

Was an absolutely stunning night for it, gorgeous views from our local extinct volcano.

Lovely stuff

Went out at 7.30pm for a blast round Cademan woods and the quarry. Didn't seem much point of going the pub as didn't think anyone would be there. Was a perfect night for it and didn't even see any other riders out which was surprising.

Nah, I bottled the coffee stop, it was way too technical. Bit of a weird place really - loads and loads of 180 degree corners

I should be present and correct on Wednesday. It will probably be the last time for 3-4 weeks due to an unholy combination of two mad weeks at work plus moving house plus going on holiday (at least the last one will be fun). As a result I am absolutely mad for it, rad, sick, whatever as well.

So what happened at the gig Wayne? Stage diving again?

I saw him charging full pace towards the bar wearing only a Tina Turner style wig and 1 sock.

I imagine the injury occurred in the presiding scuffle with the local constabulary.

I'm out for the next 7 weeks due to working away in Newton Abbot. Will try and make it back if the boss will let me.

Nothing quite as exciting as that Matt - BTW can I have the other sock back?
After a few too many beverages throughout the day I managed to get to the front - slightly over-exuberant jumping around resulted in a very noticable ping in my lower left leg. Cue a security guard assisted haul over the crush barrier and visit to first aid tent then hospital.
Missed the end of the gig, and lost the wig too ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hey Wayne were you carted off on a stretcher? I was there too but watching from the side. I'm old for the mosh pit these days. ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyway, I saw someone being dragged out and put on a stretcher. Was it you?

It's not looking good for me this week. I'm struggling to walk at the minute. ๐Ÿ™
