So my girlfriend is considering buying a new full suspension bike, something light, but still confidence inspiring downhill.
Are there any to consider other than treks, giants and specialized?
The giant looks good, but steep, the rumour looks excellent, and the trek looks ok, but the cheap option has poor forks.
What are peoples thoughts?
Step one - ignore women specific stuff unless she can't get a guys one to fit, or finds a women's one that fits particularly well.
Assuming you mean something mid-travel aka Giant Trance, Spec Stumpjumper, etc?
well, shes 5'3 and currently rides a mans rockhopper. But i thought a wsd would be better. I think something along the lines of 100 - 120mm would be best for her and the the of riding she enjoys.
Does it have to be brand new? There are some very good second-hand ladies bikes around, often bought for a girlfriend who isn't really into MTB.
Also at 5'3", 26" wheels might suit her better. And there aren't many new ones being made these days ๐
Santa Cruz Juliana. not cheap though.
