As it says really. Wondering which of the paths to take to get to the summit? Read the feature in issue 63 by Sunny but looking for a bit more detail. Also has the descent off Carb Ban Mor been spoiled/sanitized?
It depends! Riding beneath the Corries makes for more hike a bike while the track up to the cafe near the summit of Cairngorm is more rideable but a bit dull. At the summit of Cairngorm, there is a bit of a drop tthen a nice traverse and final push onto MacDui.
Carn ban mor has indeed been sanitized in the same way that the bottom part of Bynack Mor has been. I have to say that as both a walker and a biker, the Bynack Mor track sucks. The reverse water bars kill the descent to some extent though perhaps that was the design brief? Who knows!
What about Miadan Creag an Leth choin?
It's the more hikey hikey option of the two main ways up. It's a new style improved path which then gets you some great views down the Lairig Ghru. It may well make for a fun return trip if you want to do a shortish day.
Cheers for that, I'll put it to the committee.
