Normally take a set of dual ply maxxis minions to the alps.

This year going on a much shorter travel bike and was going to take my nobby mics until I got the fear.

Is there a compromise between the two which might be a good choice?

What flavour of alps? Looks like full muds for Morzine 😉

I'd not take Nobby Nics to anywhere, mind, too puncturey and tbh I wouldn't expect the tread to last the week either, the wear rate is astonishing and they lose a ton of grip once the blocks lose their definition.

But, I don't know what's good for 650b, I have nothing to offer but slaggings.

Hans Dampf Pace on rear Magic Mary Trailstar front, both from supergravity serie and you are good to go.

Hans Dampf SG worked well for me on the Rear in Alps a couple of weeks ago, and the surprising good Mavic Quest tyre on the front. Both tubeless and not a squeak of a problem all week.

Enjoy the Alps.

I have a brand new, unused etc 27.5 Magic Mary SG Vert Star if you're interested.

£40 posted. Got sent the wrong size from Germany.

+1. Used these in the mud in Morzine and worked well.
