[Closed] Inbred with 27.5 wheels?

I thought I'd seen a topic on this previously but can't seem to find it...

anyway, what's the consensus on inbreds (853 slidy dropout one) with 27.5 wheels? Yes, no or yes but too little clearance for proper (say 2.2ish) tyres?

C'mon, surely those are STW trigger words - "Inbred" and "27.5"? ๐Ÿ™‚

I've heard it done with a sliding dropout version, but the clearance is still going to be tiny. Seems a bit of a pointless compromise. Better off using the ample clearance for 26 "wheels, and getting some fat 26" tyres that are almost 27.5 in diameter...

Yeah, probably. Probably not even worth doing that really given the small difference even with the same nominal tyre size.

It works fine with 650B Schwalbe 2.25s in.
