Looking to get Mrs B a lightish e-bike for gravelly/blue trail/touring duties. She's convinced it needs to have a removable battery, otherwise I'd be ordering an Orbea Urrun H20. Range is more important than power.
List so far: Trek Powerfly 5, Merida e-Big Nine 400 and Cube Reaction hybrid. All three available locally I think.
Other ideas welcomed.
is there much difference in weight (or price) between a hardtail ebike and full sus nowadays? loads of great great deals on the latter, sub 3k, although i guess a hardtail is 2k ? so it's all perspective i guess
i am interested in a couple of hardtail ebikes suitable for 50 miles days touring.
AF is playing up again so i fear it my be a sooner rather than later purchase.
Cube reaction hybrid seems to be the forerunner at present.
bloke on the US ebike site saying he manages 70 hilly miles touring on a charge.

I've seen quite a few in XL reduced in price Tony and if you're not hung up on removable batteries, the choice is wider. When I looked a few years ago, e-hardtails weren't really a thing, but with lighter, less powerful motors, they make sense.

at least 1Kg I guess - added cost, maintenance and reduced range for features she doesn't want.
I think Calibre make the Kenetic but it’s a hub drive.

Thanks - definitely want a BB motor. It seems that Bosch are more reliable/quicker to get fixed, but less natural feeling and heavier than Shimano Steps motor.
@Ton - The Trek Powerfly + 6 has an option for a larger 800Wh battery for +£100ish - this is lighter and 20% longer lasting than standard. Trek also do a range of chargers, including a compact, lighter one (though it may struggle to charge two batteries overnight.
Looking at the Trek, Cube Reaction hybrid, or a cheaper, lighter Merida e-Big 9 (with Shimano motor) - apparently the Fred Whitton route has been done on the hire Meridas from Keswick, so decent range.
