XFusion Velvet or Reba ?
They are both 120mm, 15mm bolt-through and tapered steerer, crown top lockout.
Due to a warranty with the Xfusion which I have had for a few months I now have these 2 options. Let's assume there is no cost difference.
Bike is a Soul and it's used for general xc, mainly tight rocky/rooty natural stuff, occasional trail centre.
It needs to be one of these 2 forks..
My friend (runs a bike shop) told me Xfusion over Reba.
That said I'm still running 2006 MZ All-mountains, and intend to keep it like that for a bit.
what damping in the reba?
Reba RL, so pretty much the same setup
Dont like my reba rl. Flexy and naff damping. I would love a set of velvets, but straight steerers are hard to find. Got some vengeance too, and based upon how well made they are, i'm an xfusion fan
interesting, I had old Reba's on my Rock Lobster which I loved. I didn't get enough riding on the XFusions to really form an opinion before they developed a wee problem
Not saying that the Velvets WILL be better, but I'd like to try them.
Had some X-fusion Velvets on the HT for a few months now, rate them over the RS stuff I've run.
Sounds like the xfusions may be better option, thanks
Another suggestion revs reduced down to 120, stiffer with better damping, have Rct3 dual airs on my dialled Albert
Loco - I am limited to those 2 forks - long story..
Being a 'man in the know', have you a view on the xfusions, how are they to service etc ?
any more opinions, particulalry on the Reba's ?
I had Rebs rl on for a bit just felt very average and not very stiff. The rct3 revs were in a different league so if you cannot get them I would get the velvets. I have some slants and really rate them and my mate has velvets which he really rates.
Cheers sprocker
Salsa cromotos rigid.
Lol 🙂
looks like I will be able to try riding both forks, so will be interesting to see which suits bike/me better. Thanks for the feedback so far, which does seem to favour Velvets over Reba Solo Air
