Getting her out in the trailer soon and want to know if they make helmets small enough for little heads?
Does the trailer have a roll bar? Is the seat designed so that the kids head is not pushed forward with a helmet on? Is the kids neck strong enough to take the weight of the helmet? Can you get one that is a proper fit? ( a helmet with big gaps between the shell and head is ineffective and potentially damaging
Opinions on wearing helmets for young kids in trailers are very divided. Only you can decide but these are things to consider.

As TJ rightly says, check for fit first, and make sure they like to colour or you'll never get them to wear it.
We don't do helmets in the trailer - it has a roll bar / sides and wearing a helmet pushes their heads forward at an odd angle / is uncomfortable. We found sunglasses (to keep mud/stones) out of eyes more important!
Helmets on a bike, yes yes yes. And for weeny ones we use ones like:

But we have now moved on to proper ones (Giro Flume) - mainly on head size, but the eldest can now get up a fair speed, and a proper helmet with cradle etc offers better protection.
We have a Met Elfo for JnrI which starts at 47cm. He's 9 months and it fits fine.

We use a Spech small fry, which if you can get in very small sizes, and fits really well. We did try on as many as we could find before getting one though. Which was not that easy as a small child gets fed up easily...

2nd the Specialized small fry, fits our 11 month old perfectly.
They make them small enough and whilst not strictly necessary I prefer to get them used to wearing a helmet on the bike from day one .. I have e-mailed you re a free helmet as they out grow them quick at that age .. .can also sort out a rear carrier as well if any use?
