I've never had anything electronic attached to me or my bike before, and have tended to go selectively blind and deaf when people start talking about that sort of technology in relation to physical activity.
I have been tempted of late, however, to indulge my passing interest in stats, and am wondering what sorts of things wrist devices in particular can do before adding such a thing to my annual Christmas Wish List.
Is it possible to get a heart rate monitor combined with a GPS at a reasonable price (say ~£150)? If so, would both the heart and the GPS readings be accurate, or would they be estimates (in the sense of basing the data they produce on time riding and distance travelled)?
Can they be used for multiple sports, like running, cycling, or swimming? And if so, are all models waterproof? Or are they pretty sport-specific?
Sorry for my ignorance, but looking at such things online just makes me go cross-eyed, and I never trust getting simple, introductory information in shops.
Have a look at the Garmin vivoactive
As above, youve just described the vivoactive, slight over 150 with a heart rate monitor, but is possible to get one separately for less.
