As above really.
Old Cateye died last week 🙁
I use a Petzl headtorch when using a peak, but fancy something safe, reliable, quickly detachable and not too pricey for the road bike.

What's good at the mo?

Thanks in advance.

Ixon IQ, not cheap, but definitely a commuter headlight rather than a portable off-road mini sun/torch... Beam is optimized for road use as are their excellent dynamo lights which I've used for years.

Electron nano 9 for me - nice and bright, nice and cheap. Use a Blackburn flea on my helmet as a second

Mate spend some money here Why you may ask
Its because i cant see you when driving
I mainly see solid light not these cheap flicking things
Some thing like the Hope Vision 4's or Troute Liberator light
on here will see you through the dark nights

I've been running the exposure flash for the last month now on my daily commute in and around manchester;

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=54853

It's had a few proper soakings and seems to get me noticed plenty enough, even in busy rush hour traffic when here are planty of other distractions for drivers, and certainly seems more durable that previous lights around this price. The flash function seems to get me noticed in the daytime to, it's more of a solid light with a flash on top. It's pretty tiny and just pops off it's mount and into my pocket, but is secure when in the mount. I picked up 2 re-chargeable's and a charger off ebay for about £12 from a UK shop. So for a £50 package I'm pretty chuffed, and it's hard to get that excited about a front light. I guess a big thing with lights is how bright a light the individual rider feels happy with, in terms of either just getting seen in busy traffic or lighing a trail at night, but if grantway couldn't see me with this, then he shouldn't be allowed in a car...........

This one from Philips? http://www.bike24.com/p214244.html
Its like an improved version of the B&M Ixon IQ, so a road specific beam shape, but twice as bright. And probably better build quality, ie its an aluminium case.
