Any recommendations for long lasting, or serviceable pedals from the XC/Bikepacking/Commuting crowd please? I've gone through a few pairs of DMR's and Saints.

Thanks in advance.

Hope have lasted for far longer than any others I've had (DMR and Superstar mainly). Probably 3yrs old now and not a hint of play and pristine inside. Obviously you'd expect them to with the price, though.

Mk4 burgtec’s here lasted me about 2 years before they seized took me 15/20 mins a pedal to strip clean grease  and refit bearing and bush on the axel. £100 for  the pedals (eBay cheaper if you look) and £20 for a complete service kit for both pedals.

Which DMR? The vault is my go to reliable pedal. Cheap and easy to revive is there is any issue.

If you think the vault is unreliable, stay away from the RaceFace Atlas. The bearings in those collapse of you look at them funny. Put them on a SixC crank and it's impossible to tell where the play is coming from.

DMR V12 wore out quite quickly as I recall.

I've been completely won over by Hope. They also have a good review on bikepacking.com. Not cheap though, although I bought mine at fair chunk under the RRP.

I had a Hope axle break after about 4 1/2 years. To be fair Hope were amazing as they replaced both axles for no charge, despite them being well out of warranty. Hats off to Hope, brilliant customer service.

To be fair I've not had any issues with Superstar or DMR Vaults but my Wellgo MG1's have been on a mountain bike and commuter for the last 8 years and have never been opened up....absolutely nothing done to them.

I've had Hope and DMR Vaults (on different bikes) both for around three years and used pretty much the same amount.I've had to service the Vaults a few months ago but the Hopes show no obvious sign of wear. Well lots of scuffs, but no sign of play or roughness. To be fair, servicing the vaults was pretty easy though.

Hopes are really well made, unfortunately they aren’t very good at being the mechanism to attach your foot to the bike. Removing the centre pins helps but they just aren’t that grippy
