Hi,

Having done the 'Puffer and TUTB so far this year and the the 'Puffer Lite and 10 more in Moray on the agenda we've decided to get a decent gazebo as the bag of lose poles and plastic connectors we had at TUTB was a pain in the arse.
Can anyone recommend something?

Cheers

Paul.

We use the actual EZ-UP made ones, they're light, sturdy, easy to transport, etc, but they are HELLISHLY expensive.

not the Argos EZ up style one. My dad bought one and it was up in his sheltered garden - bent and mangled in <24 hours with a gentle breeze and some rain.

angus bike chain use the ones from supergazeebos.co.uk - we have 2 they are over 6 years old and we fair get around , withstood the windy mayhem 2 years ago that crippled alot of gazeebos , the puffer every year since the start , all the no fuss events - hell just alot of events.

We have replaced a couple bits here and there - but spares are availible and are cheap. We are going to get some new doors soon as the zips have packed in but they are under alot of tension so no wonder. Proven to be waterproof for 24 hours as well !

Decathlon do some in the "nearly 2second" series. If guyed down correctly then they're pretty resilient.

trail_rat,

Do you have a link to the site you used? I've Googled for it but haven't had any luck.

Cheers

Paul.

Ive got one spare. It's got the words "Singletrack" plastered all over it, but if it's any use make me an offer.

I thought that looked an amazing price for what it was!
Seems the shelter itself is £129 and the side wall is £15! that was nearly a disastrous impulse buy 😀

We were considering one of those Colman event shelters but didn't get around to it. We were pitched next to one at Bristol Bike Fest last year. It took the entire allocated pitch but looked great and will certainly withstand more than the gentle breeze that destroys normal gazebo's.

We (LVIS) have one of the Coleman ones and it's brilliant. Well worth it for the money.

We also have two more traditional 6m x 3m marquees bought from ebay which were about £80 each which work ok but are a bit flimsy.

I've always used the £40 supermarket easy ups and they've tended to last about 2 years of regular use (15-20 weekends). The key to them (and any easy up really) is to tie it down properly. Screw in dog pegs for each corner with a ratchet strap to each one. If the ezup can't move it's much harder for them to get damaged.

@rse 👿 Teach me to read better...

Apologies if any hares set running. Product details are for the overall shelter (dimensions, poles, weight etc, so very misleading...

The Coleman does look the business, however I can't help but think it's a bit big. Between that and a four man tent I think we'd take up more than what would be considered reasonable for a small team at an event ❓

trail_rat, those look really good and if the longevity is as you say then very cost effective. The fact there are spares available helps too.

The E-Z Up certainly looks like the benchmark however if I'm honest I could only justify a cost of ownership of circ. £50 per year on something that would be as infrequently used as a gazebo and I'd probably be dead before I felt I got my moneys worth out of the Eclipse II 😀

Me too... nearly. 😳

The Hit the North "event village" (such a ****y term) very nearly ended up as being a collection of gazebo side walls.

Credit card back to DEFCON 5.

I have a s**t Tesco one. It's s**t. But it cost £15.

The side walls seem to be a bit of a problem for the cheap ones, sure it's nice to have the shelter but it makes them so vulnerable to wind, especially if you're in a carpark or other bad ground and can't peg it down as well as you'd want to.
