MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
Influenced by boredom and scanning threads on mtbr
Canucks are pretty skilled and a bit mad (but are they 2 stoned?)
Alpine Euro's can rip (but most are xctastic)
US types have some awesome trails (but are they too old / big wheeled?)
UK riders mix it up and have great DH competition heritage (but what about the easy trail centres?)
So which country really rides like they stole it?
its not where you're from it about what's inside
Australia have alot of talent coming through.
I thought you had written;

for a minute
I rode with a couple of fella's from Louisiana and they were amazed by my dh speed (I'm not fast) on a hardtail, this allows me to generalise that all Yankees are slow 😉
Well, thats an easy one, must be us danes, because Henrik Djernis won
the the World Mountain Bike Championship in a row ! 😉
Oz
I have allowed myself to tar all spaniards with the same brush also for the sake of this thread. I went to La Molina bike park earlier this year on a 140mm travel bike and overtook dozens of em on 180mm travel dh rigs, and I am rubbish! It was early(ish) in the season though and there was a fair bit of slush/ice/mud around and I'm guessing that it's not something they are too used to in them parts!
From my experience:
Brits generally are good all rounders and can ride a large veriety of terrain. I also find other english speaking nations similar.
Germans love big climbs and tours but techy singletrack is a no no.
The French... I have yet to meet a French rider struggling DH on any terrain (well the ones round Nice anyway with the exception of Juan 😉 )
Spanish....a bit like the Germans.
The Italians that I know are very diverse...either full on XC with lycra and carbon hardtails or full blown DH and freeriders..
France.
Only really got experience of the Canucks. The standard of the riders and the trails over there seems pretty high.
Most of the Spanish and French that I've seen are off-roadies. Up a fireroad and down the tarmac, or the fireroad if you're feeling gnarly. The ones that choose to take advantage of the superb singletrack available in their countries tend to be able to rip big style though. I ride with a group of 50-ish people from all over Spain that meet throughout the country and the top 5-10 fast guys are really, really fast.
I would say that if you took the average talent of people in the UK then it would be higher than the average talent of Euro people, purely because there's such a high number of off-roadies over here. If that makes sense!
