A friend of mine has a friend who works at Continental and he has offered him some tyres on the cheap, but what the hell should he get?
Their range is sooooooooo vast it is unreal.
He rides fast flowing single track in the summer, boggy nasty rubbish in the winter and also races XC.
I know one tyre wont meet all requirements but what would you advise for each activity?

Mountain Kings for an all rounder
The ones with Maxxis written on the side.
Looks like mountain kings are the prefered all rounder and speed kings for race with the edge for the mud.
Will get him to order these and a set of each for me.
