Most entry level bikes are stupidly short, even the 'large' or XL frames...
Can any one recommend me a bike for 6'6" customer who doesn't want to spend a fortune?
What is your budget? Trek do up to a 24" frame a 4300 is around £450
That would probably be a goer - any others?
Specialized do a XXL frame for some of their hybrids, not sure how big they go on MTB's
I've got a Merida TFS XL, i'm 6'3" and its too big for me
Giant not got long top tubes?
Define 'fortune'?
I'm 6'7" and i only ride 29ers now and 26ers don't feel right anymore.
I had a variety of 26" bikes before i plumped for a 23" Rockhopper 29er and never looked back. My cheapest is an On One Inbred but that'll still cost a fair bit to kit out.
This is on Chain Reaction and looks pretty good for the money and comes in 21" & 23". He may find that in 29ers a 21" will be big enough (my inbred is 21").

As mentioned, Specialized do Rockhopper's and Hardrock's up to a 23" frame, starting at £340 for a Hardrock SE to Rockhopper Expert at £800. Or go up to a Carve 29er at £999.
