Old friend of mine (single female) has an old Kona Cindercone and tells me the brakes (Hayes) have seized as she's not used it in a while. Anyone got a preference between Harry Halls and Edinburgh Bike Co-Op? Failing that, anyone want to be a knight in shining armour and fix her bike for her?

Harry's is great. Hora will tell you otherwise, but surely that's a recommendation for Harry's in itself.

Evans on Deansgate for mechanics. The mechanics there are competent and dont spend hours trying to fix a problem. Rounded/snapped bolts for instance are out in less than 5mins. Harry Halls? Nothing for or against them. I'd go as far to say as Evans are as good as NWMTB for what you need and charge a fraction of the price.

Yes. Its not a racebike or a 4k wonder machine. Just a good bike.

The Evans lot are more than competent enough in the workshop and they only charge something like £12 a hour plus anything you may need.

The amount of times Ive mucked up with bolts (broken drill bits etc) etc etc- and its taken them nowt to rectify.
