Asking on behalf of a mate. He’s lining up a Titan 2 that I can’t find out much about. Seems keen to go with tow bar option as he doesn’t want to mess that paint on his saloon.
Budget <£100 new or secondhand.

There are usually plenty of Thule ones going on Gumtree for that kind of budget.
Flanged or swan neck? Detachable or fixed?
I found a secondhand aiston that fixes to a sandwich plate on the flange and it's great. Slightly more faff to store than the fancier folding designs from Thule etc but it's seriously solid. I can climb onto it and the towbar bends more than the rack.
Only downside is the hooks that hold the top tube aren't clamps so either; wrap several layers of helicopter tape arround the tube where it rests. Or adjust the rack so the hook sits at the joint of the tt and st, there it works well even when set a cm or so away from the tube.
Go for a 3 bike rack instead and you'll have more space inbetween and loading can be less fussy.
